Hello again. Drums,gongs and cymbals clang and clash in accompaniment to lion and dragon dances, as the Chinese New Year is ushered in. The festivals is celebratedover a 15-day period. On the eve of Chinese New Year, family members hold reunion dinners followed by an 'open house' for relatives and friends.

This is an exciting time to be in Malaysia as visitors are sure to come upon lion and dragon dance performances in public venues. The abundance of mandarin oranges and stalks of plum blossoms, believed to bring prosperity and good luck, add to the festive air.

Malaysia Open House for Chinese New Year Celebration will be hosted by Melaka State Government on 24th February 2007 ( Saturday ) at Jonker Street from 7.30pm until midnight. See you there!
