Melaka Sentral has been the central hub for transportation in Melaka since it commenced operations in early 2004. It serves as an ultra-modern bus terminal for both local and outstation buses into the other Malaysian states and Singapore. The full-air conditioned bus terminal also features a taxi terminal, bazaar, bus for domestic & outside Melaka right beside it.

Bukit Cina Hill

Bukit Cina was the official settlemet of the Chinese entourage who arrived in Melaka with Princess Hang Li Poh. She was sent by the Chinese Emperor to marry the Sultan of Melaka. The entourage stayed on this settlement until the Portuguese colonisation in 1511. Today Bukit Cina is the largest Chinese cemetary outside China and many of the graves there date back to the Ming Dynasty. It is located at Jalan Puteri Hang Li Poh.

Popular Melaka's Well

The well is located in Kampung Duyung where Hang Tuah was born. He spent his childhood with four of his good friends who later became the famous knights of Melaka

According to folklore, those who throw a coin into the well will return to Melaka time and time again. The well was built in 1459 by the followers of Hang Li Poh, the Chinese princess who married the Sultan of Melaka. Back in the olden days, during the drought, the Li Poh's Well at Jalan Puteri Hang Li Poh.

Popular Melaka Church And Mausoleum

St. Francis Xavier’s Church built in 1849 by French priest Reverend Frave and dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, who was also known as the “Apostle of the East”, was a 16th century missionary who spread Christianity to Southeast Asia. You can view the authentic architecture and learn about history of the building which is situated at Jalan Laksamana.

St. Peter’s Church built during the Dutch occupation in 1710. It is proclaimed the oldest Roman Catholic church in the country. Use your senses to conjure the nostalgic images of the past withn this holy sanctuary. You will find St. Peter’s Church at the end of Jalan Bendahara.

Hang Kasturi’s Mousoleum – He’s studied silat (Malay martial art) under the same tutelages as Hang Tuah, Jebat, Lekir and Lekiu. He became one of the ‘Hulubalang’(knight) who served Melaka together. Some said that he was the one that took vengeance against the Sultan Melaka for ordering the Killing of Hang Tuah without a proper investigation.

Hang Tuah’s Mousoleum – The grave acts as a lasting memorial to remarkable hero, Hang Tuah. He was legendary for his bravery, intelligence, wits and fighting skills in the history. It as after one of his daring feats that the Sultan oppointed him as the youngest knights. You can view this mausoleum at Tanjung Kling.

Sri Poyyatha Vinagayar Moorthi Temple built on a plot by the Dutch. It is one of the first Hindu temple to be constructed in the country. If you have a fascination for old building, you may like to visit here which is situated at the junction between Jalan Tukang Eams and Jalan Hang Kasturi.

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple built around 1646 with authentic building materials from China and the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. It houses the statue of The Goddess of Mercy or “Kuan Yin”,thus being named Abode of The Green (merciful) cloud. The architecture is a beautiful example of Chinese architecture with intricate carvings and designs of mythical figures, animals, birds and flowers. Endless streams of local and foreign devotes come to respect and pray to the Goddess of Mercy here.

Sam Po Kong Temple is located at the foot of Bukit Cina and built in 1795 by Kapitan Ts’ai Shih-Chang in connection with the adjoining cemetery, Fu-te-tz’u. Later it was expanded, but the main deity worshipped continued to be Fu-te-cheng-shern or Ta-Po Kung. Within the premises area is the famous well, San Poo Ching or Perigi Raja, subject to many legends and stories.

Villa Sentosa is located in Kampung Morten, which is the only Malay Village in the Heart of the Melaka Town. The house was built during the first quarter of the 20th century in a style fasionable during that era. It has today been converted by its owner, Tuan Hj Hashim bin Dato’ Demang Hj Abdul Ghani into a private Museum Visitors can view an intriguing collection of costume,Malay embroidery, furniture, muskets and arry of interesting relics. The owner will be obliged to provide additional information to visitors.

Tranquerah Mosque is a living testimony of the Islamic presence in Melaka some 600 years ago. It is also the resting place of Sultan Hussain of Johor who signed Singapore’s cession with Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819. Visitors can view the intricate designs of the mosque which is locate at Jalan Tengkera.

Kampung Kling Mosque is one of the oldest mosque in the country, the amazing Sumatran architecture is still intact and well preserved till today. Unlike other typical domes, the Kampung Kling Mosque has a three-tired roof shape like a pyramid. Designed like Pagoda, the Moorish style minaret is a true picture of the East-West architecture influence. Located at the junction between Jalan Lekiu and Jalan Tukang Emas.

Jasin Museum - If you like soapy romance or mystical tales, you'll enjoy a visit here at Jasin Town. The place is home to various historical and cultural artifacts, as well as the passionate story of Sultan Mahmud Shah's infatuation with the Princess of Gunung Ledang. An inspiring tale which is captivating as the city itself.

Alor Gajah Museum - The houses stories of past glories, tragedies, heartaches and triumphs in the Alor Gajah district-the battleground during Naning War and also exhibits the cultures of Malays, Chinese and Indians.

Youth Museum - Located in Stadhuys building. This building formerly housed Melaka's General Post Office. This building are functions as the documentation centre with materials and information which relates with youth activities in Malaysia and internationally. Among the exhibits are pictures of youth leaders, trophies, uniform and handicraft products from youth corporations.

St' Paul Church
Built by Portuguese captain, the church was located at Bukit St' Paul transformed into a burial place for the noble by the Dutch. The church, which was called "Our Lady Of The Hill" by the Portuguese, was renamed St' Paul Church after the Dutch took over Melaka.













Museum of History & Ethnography
Built in 1982, the Musuem is a great place to learn about the History of Melaka. Throught the artifacts and historical drawings, you will be transported back from the times of the Portuguese, Dutch, British and Japanese, to the period of Malaysia's independence. The stories of bloodshed, tragedy, power and triumph will tug at your heartsrings and live on forever. The museum is located inside the Stadhuys at the junction of Jalan Kota and Jalan Gereja.












Maritime Musuem
Ever been on a ship that is actually a musuem inside? If not, come abroad this one then. Constructed after the Portuguese ship, 'Flor De La Mar', it is a place where you'll find indepth knowledge from the 14th century to present time. The musuem is located at Jalan Quayside.

A Sultanate Palace is located right in the centre of Melaka town, opposite the Proclamation of Independence Memorial Building, The Cultural Museum is a place not to be missed. A replica of the old Sultanate Palace, the museum depicts a vivid tale of the unique blend of cultures. You can view the tableaus and collections of the past there.














The Stadhuys is once the official residence of the Dutch Governors and officers, it has now become the historical building fo the Museum of History and Ethnography. On a daily basis, you can enjoy the display of traditional bridal costume and relics from Melaka's ancient times. The Stadhuys is located along Jalan Gereja.

Christ Church is a place not to be missed. When you look closely, you'll be able to see the handmade pews and ceiling beams that had been constructed without joints. Other exquisite features include the Brass Bible, the tombstone written in Armenian and the glazed tiles of 'Last Supper'. Built in 1753, the church is situated along Jalan Gereja.
